Ember is my internet pen name. As this blog gets inspired and written by other people and alter egos, I find  that it is important to use a pen name. It is my aim to bring in fresh ideas and do investigative write ups.

Politically I am pretty much a Libertarian, religiously I am a Liberal rogue Christian. I was born in Asia and I live in New Zealand, which is my home country now. I got millions of sheep to bear the witness. I have never ever mistreated them. Maybe sometimes I ate their meat but hey blame the butchers, not my fault.

Some of the goals and objectives of this blog: Let freedom RING, DING AND DONG. Let humor rule and split your sides and reveal your insides. Find a rich women (who doesn’t have to be a lady) to marry and move to anywhere above 50 degree North or South of the equator, BECAUSE ME LOVES THE COLD AND SNOW.  Let me have your donations. Support the aspiring writer/ humorist. Help me with my rent and jock itch cream. It’s a noble thing to do.

I hate people who easily agree with anyone or anything. I love diversity of opinion and inclusiveness. So, don’t worry, I will hear you respectfully when you speak, regardless of your beliefs or disbeliefs.

If you may like to talk to me confidentially or want to send me hatemail (but are too scared to do it in public) , here is my email address: embersky@gmail.com But I discourage the use of emails except for maintaining confidentiality where it is necessary.

From your ‘About’ blurb: “I will hear you respectfully when you speak, regardless of your beliefs or disbeliefs.”

Then why the attacks on those who leave comments about Mormons? I am a Mormon, so fire away.

You really should update your understanding about what goes on in the LDS church. The folks to whom you refer are excommunicated. Your comments about pedophilia are beyond any civil discussion or exchange of ideas. They are simply the worst form of bigotry.

I lived in Singapore for a couple years, working in healthcare among Chinese, Malaysians, Indians, and others. All were more tolerant than many so-called Christians, and many seemed surprised when they discovered that I didn’t have horns on my head or multiple wives. They were all respectful of my beliefs and admired my family. I still keep in touch with many of them, even though we are all getting older.

Where did you pick up your hatred of Mormons? Did you ever know or interact with any? Have you seriously read the Book of Mormon? You might consider doing so before offering your scathing criticisms.

With your goal of getting paid for your research and writing, you might want to expand your horizons and not give in so easily to such convenient stereotypes and slanderous innuendo.

In any case, you live in a beautiful land.

Have a Merry Christmas or an enjoyable celebration of whatever type or variety you choose.

    Respectfully,

    Mike

    Hello Mike,

I often debate which does not mean I attack. Debating is a medium that should lead to better understanding. Only if you had read my debates with those who hate Muslims or are Islamophobic, you would realize I was much more assertive with them.

Mormonism — I don’t doubt there would be plenty of good folks who are Mormons. There are good people in any philosophy or religion no matter how inherently flawed it maybe. For example, I am no fan of Christian Science but I find some of their teachings quite reasonable and their followers to be very genial folks. But still I cannot accept it due to a few reasons. My objections to Mormonism are many. Here I mention a few :

1.) Absurdity of its Origins and Adam Smith’s bizarre and laughable claims that have been accepted as truth by his followers.

2.) Exclusiveness and secretiveness of Mormonism. It arrogantly declares to the world that it is the only true church or salvation bringer. Even Catholics and most protestant Christians don’t make such claims anymore.

3.) Blatant official racism of Mormon church that denied all non- white people special privileges and membership that only Whites could get UNTIL 1978! In fact my own online chats (maybe not a very good measure but still it gives some idea) with Mormons showed them to be horribly intolerant, arrogant, exclusive and racist people.

4.) Many sections of Mormon society did practice polygamy and middle aged Mormon men having young brides was not just a myth.

5.) I like to meet people from different religions directly and have done so with Catholics, various protestant denominations etc. I once contacted Mormon church in my region, but for some reason they did not get back to me. But it was about 5 years back. Right now I don’t have much desire to get any introduction or visit lds.org etc. as I have known a lot more than I needed to, including whatever I mentioned above.

Thanks for expressing your concerns and opinions.

    Regards,
    Ember.

Ember, I am with you 100% . If anyone out there reading this is inclined to not suffer fools, then stay as far away from the mormons as you possibly can! I live here in Utah and I’ve had first hand experience with these mindless toadies! Someone should file a class action lawsuit against the mormon organization for ruining thousands of young people lives/minds with their mind fucking “theology”.
    Thank you.

    Hey Ember,

I just ran across you on Steph’s blog. Wow! She is one angry woman! I am Canadian and have been following the Zahara Kazemi case and I posted some criticisms of Steph’s critique of the story. I have asked her to substantiate her claims with sources ( particularly that Kazemi was on a hunger strike and the examining doctor has been discredited) and of course she didn’t. I posted a link of Canadian reporting on the issue which she refused to post. Instead she tore into me for ranting ( I was being really polite, honest! ) and she edited my comments so as to alter their tone. She refused to answer my question about where she went to Law school and what kind of Law she practiced!!
Anyway- just wanted to say thank you for also following the Kazemi case and for challenging Steph’s shaky scholarship on the issue.

That woman is a loony. Funny once she wrote a post passionately standing for the freedom of speech of some Holocaust deniers. But then she refuses to publish any views contrary to her own rants. I wonder if this woman froths at mouth as she types.

She blocked my comments ages ago. She won’t answer my email. I had another person at WordPress who contacted me saying the same things as you do about this mad woman. Well, what can I say. If she indeed is a Catholic (as she claims) she sounds like a good case for a refreshing Exorcism.

  6. Delores Pike Says:

I do have to say after reading your site that I hope and pray you come to a true saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
He paid the price for all at the cross and then raised Himself from the dead three days later so that all who beleive in Him would have eternal life with Him forever. Christ made it simple for all to believe. Unfortunately man has made it something else and complicated His message. Go to
http://www.gracewalk.org and click on Steve’s blog and listen to the 101 lies being preached each sunday. Ask the Lord to help you understand His truth. He is the Way the Truth and the Life
and no man comes to the Father except throught the Son.
Gods Grace and Love to You, Delores

Madam, even if you had not ”read my site” and left this comment I would still need the grace of God; we all do, including you. ”No one is righteous not even one”.

  9. Gunther Montez Says:

How dare you decry the dumbing of America while perverting grammar, syntax, construction and logic? You are but a verbose, self-involved hack.

  10. emberglow Says:

Mr. Montez: Please elaborate what you mean by I ”decry the dumbing of America”. It made no sense to me. But then maybe this is to be expected considering my bad grammar, convoluted syntax and frayed logic.

At least you (or anyone else) could help me understand your short but elusive comment, regarding my decrying the ”dumbing of America”? What on earth do you mean. Please cite the source and your reasons for being so irate, and yet so cryptic.

  11. m Says:

For a site that is supposed to be peace, I am saddened by the mere ideals behind “debate”. Peace is a state of heart and thoughts. Our world, our peace, manifests the very peace you’d like. Unfortunately you are simply stirring the pot with these debates. Accept and love all and they will follow into peaceful place. The biggest challenge we have these days in discovering such peace is that too many people are firing such energy through their thought patterns only manifesting friction amongst the masses. And in effect, most groups involved in these clashes, DO believe they are the good guys and are trying to establish peace. See? They are not modeling peace. If they modeled true peace, compassion and love peaceful energy would begin to affect all areas.

  12. emberglow Says:

M- Thanks for your comments. I admit things have become a bit too heated on here a few times. But I promised myself that I would not censor any comments and even publish abusive comments if I could. You call it stirring the pot but I think it is giving people (including me) a chance to get it off their chest. It also lets other people a chance to read some honest views.

Freedom of thought and expression is another reason this blog can make some people uneasy. When I write about religions for example, it is my right to mention things I dislike about them. Even South Park is allowed to do that on TV and is broadcast all over the world!

Couple of years ago there was huge controversy that republishing those Mohamed cartoons from the Danish newspapers was nothing more than stirring a pot. I personally thought newspapers should not have done so because it could cause unnecessary violence and damage of property, loss of life all over the world. But still even reputed newspapers all over the world re-published those cartoons, including newspapers in New Zealand. I guess sometimes it is important to speak up even when it means you might be stirring the pot.
